In 2017, Georgios Georgantas and Georgios Fragkistas, long-time friends and business partners, founded the “Irene” Welfare Association to institutionalize the significant philanthropic work they had been carrying out for decades. Following the passing of Georgios Georgantas in April 2021, his daughter, Nefeli Georganta, assumed the presidency of the association.

The “Irene” Welfare Association is a fully self-funded initiative, operating with complete transparency and without any state funding. Its primary mission is to expand its social impact continuously. The association focuses on key areas such as Health, Education, Child Protection Units, and support Vulnerable Groups.

With an ever-expanding scope of activity and guided by the motto #WelfareThroughTangibleActions, “Irene” is dedicated to implementing practical initiatives that generate meaningful and lasting impact. Together, we strive to build a better future for all, rooted in respect and solidarity.
