Creating infrastructures that promote inclusion and ensure children’s safety is a core value of the IRENE Welfare Association.
In this context, an important project was completed at the Special Primary School of Aigaleo, which included the construction of a basketball court and the redevelopment of the schoolyard with sensory and interactive play areas built on a safety surface.
Before the intervention, the yard was a large, unused cement area. Today, it has been transformed into a vibrant, safe, and joyful environment where children can move freely, play, and express themselves.
This project reflects the Association’s commitment to actively supporting special schools, which have greater needs for suitable facilities and specialized equipment.
Because every child — regardless of abilities — deserves a school that inspires, protects, and helps them discover their true self. 🕊️
