The Eirini Association continues to support the de-institutionalization efforts for individuals with mental health conditions by making a significant donation to the Social Psychiatry Society P. Sakellaropoulos. The association has donated 15 beds with their mattresses to the B’ Boarding House of Attica located in Kallithea, which currently hosts 15 patients.
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Units of the P. Sakellaropoulos Social Psychiatry Society provide services aimed at:
- De-institutionalizing individuals with chronic psychiatric disorders
- Supporting their social reintegration and improving their quality of life
- Continuing their care close to their place of origin (follow-up)
- Improving their individual and social functionality
- Safeguarding their rights
- Reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness within the local community
An important aspect of this initiative is the active participation of neighbors in the Boarding House’s events, which further supports the autonomy of the patients.
