The IRENE Welfare Association responded promptly to the request for help from the Special Vocational Education and Training Laboratory (E.E.E.E.K.) of Galata. Following a request from the director of E.E.E.E.K. Galata, Mr. Nikos Fasias, to upgrade the equipment in the Autonomous Living room and the Art Laboratory, our team traveled to Galata, Troizinia, and within a few hours transformed the space into a comfortable, modern, and colorful room! Here, eight students with severe disabilities prepare daily with the ultimate goal of their integration into society and their autonomy, so they can face the challenges of everyday life.
Specifically, the items we donated were:
- Ηλεκτρικές συσκευές, όπως έναν σύγχρονο φούρνο, έναν απορροφητήρα, ένα πλυντήριο-στεγνωτήριο, ένα ψυγείο, ένα φούρνο μικροκυμάτων, μια τοστιέρα, ένα βραστήρα και μια ζυγαριά ακριβείας.
- Electrical appliances, such as a modern oven, a range hood, a washer-dryer, a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, and a precision scale.
- Electronic devices, such as a state-of-the-art computer with a large screen, a color multifunction printer, and of course, a keyboard with a mouse.
The joy of the students and teachers of the E.E.E.E.K. Galata when they saw the big surprise waiting for them moved us deeply. Now, they can all enjoy a safe and welcoming space, fully equipped with suitable and modern devices, perfectly meeting their daily needs, as every modern school should.
