In a heartwarming ceremony filled with children’s smiles and emotion, the first inclusive playground in the Municipality of Katerini was officially inaugurated. Located in the courtyard of the Daycare Center for Children with Disabilities, this landmark project for the city was made possible thanks to a donation from “IRENE” Association.

Members of the Association and representatives of the Municipality of Katerini attended the event and symbolically cut the ribbon — marking the beginning of a new path toward inclusion, equality, and acceptance. A path where no child is left behind.

The new 300 sq.m. playground was designed with full accessibility in mind, so that all children — with or without disabilities — can play equally, safely, and joyfully. The construction was carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Katerini, which undertook the site preparation and infrastructure.

The donation by “IRENE” Association included:
-Installation of special safety flooring
-Fully accessible and certified playground equipment
-Landscaping and development of the surrounding area
