Through the “KALIMERA” Program, the “Eirini” Social Welfare Association provides a daily breakfast to 273 students with disabilities attending six special education schools, helping meet an essential daily need while offering meaningful support to both the students and their families.
The program is implemented in the following schools: 2nd EL EPAP Special Primary School of Athens (40 students), 2nd Special Kindergarten of Athens (8 students), 6th Special Primary School of Athens (47 students), Ilion Special Junior–Senior High School (96 students), EN.E.E.GY.-L. Ilion (58 students), and the Aigaleo Special Primary School for Children with Physical Disabilities (24 students).
By ensuring that every child begins the school day with a nutritious breakfast, the program promotes students’ well-being, supports equal participation in the learning process, and enhances their daily quality of life. At the same time, it provides valuable support to families and recognizes the important work carried out by special education schools.
For the “Eirini” Social Welfare Association, providing a daily breakfast is more than meeting a basic need—it is an act of care, solidarity, and social responsibility that reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting children in need and fostering a more inclusive society with equal opportunities for all.
