The interventions in the accommodation facilities of the Argenteios Children’s Home were essential in order to ensure that the children are hosted in a warm and modern environment. The “Irene” Association, through its donations, made a significant contribution to upgrading the building’s infrastructure. Our Association’s donations were implemented within the framework of our collaboration with the organization “Together for Children” in support of its structures.
The “Children’s Home” Foundation has been actively supporting working mothers for 81 years. Each year, around 400 children are hosted in its model childcare facilities. At the Argenteios Children’s Home of the Foundation, 81 children are currently accommodated: 40 toddlers and 41 infants.
This beautiful children’s home in Thiseio needed a little more care. The “Irene” Association, responding to essential operational needs, proceeded with the following donations: the replacement of iron window frames with aluminum frames, the supply and installation of a professional dishwasher, as well as the installation of an alarm system, an intercom system, and a monitoring system (CCTV).
Through our donations, the Argenteios Children’s Home has become more welcoming for the toddlers and infants in its care, while also improving the daily work of the staff. The new window frames provide protection from rain, excessive heat, and cold, and the professional dishwasher has enhanced hygiene and offers substantial support to the staff. Finally, thanks to the installation of an alarm system, an intercom system, and a monitoring system (CCTV), the building is now safer for both the children hosted there and the staff.
The home of 81 children has been transformed. It is now warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Rain can no longer find its way inside, and it remains safe every hour of every day.
The Argenteios Children’s Home is now a safe shelter filled with warmth and children’s smiles. The “Irene” Association’s goal is to keep the children smiling at all times.
