The “Irene” Association, at its own expense, implemented a project that secured the facilities through modern fire detection and fire protection systems in buildings of “Symballein”.<\/p>\n
“Symballein” implements programs and initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable groups. Among its main objectives is ensuring equal access to primary healthcare, both for socially vulnerable groups and for individuals with mental health and psychosocial difficulties.<\/p>\n

Aligned with these objectives, and particularly due to the sensitivity of the mental health sector, the “Irene” Association has been implementing support projects for “Symballein” since 2024.<\/p>\n
As part of this support, the “Irene” Association proceeded with the donation and installation of fire safety and fire protection systems, as well as fire-resistant doors, at the \u201cAlkistis\u201d Residential Facility and Supported Apartment, as well as at the Adult Day Center \u201cLucien Bonnaf\u00e9\u201d, in Metaxourgeio. The project was implemented based on an approved fire protection study by the Hellenic Fire Service. <\/p>\n
These facilities serve approximately 25 residents, as well as all beneficiaries of the Day Center, while nearly 30 staff members are employed. The true impact of the project is decisive, as it has ensured the functioning of Symballein\u2019s facilities. Without the fire safety and fire protection systems, these structures would have been forced to cease functioning, as they would not have met the licensing requirements. At the same time, the spaces have become safer and better protected against one of the greatest risks, fire. These are facilities that serve individuals with mental health and psychosocial difficulties, which makes protection from a potential fire not a luxury, but a vital necessity. <\/p>\n
There are needs that are not immediately apparent, yet they are of the highest priority. The “Irene” Association aims to implement actions with the greatest possible social impact in the community.<\/p>\n

This project by the “Irene” Association, in a setting with a distinct social character, strengthened the sense of safety and care for those who need it most, bringing hope. Thanks to our work, “Symballein” will continue to provide appropriate services and support to a large number of people with mental health and psychosocial difficulties. <\/p>\n
