In Vergina, the \u201cHouse of Vergina,\u201d a childcare accommodation structure, has been \u201ctransformed.\u201d The socail walfer acosiation irene<\/strong> carried out a substantial upgrade of the building infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The \u201cHouse of Vergina\u201d is a Child Protection Unit of the Association \u03a0\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03bf\u03b2\u03bf\u03c5\u03bb\u03af\u03b1 \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf \u03a0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03af<\/span><\/span> in Veria. It accommodates up to 15 children under a prosecutor\u2019s or court order, providing them with a stable care environment, a \u201cnew family.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the facility, which has been operating since 2012, only limited repairs had previously been carried out. Last year, it was deemed necessary to implement interventions in the building infrastructure in order to meet the operating requirements of Child Protection Units (CPUs) and to complete the process of renewing its operating license.<\/p>\n

The socail walfer acosiation irene<\/strong> accepted the request of the Association \u03a0\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03bf\u03b2\u03bf\u03c5\u03bb\u03af\u03b1 \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf \u03a0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03af<\/span><\/span> and funded and implemented the works that ensured the renewal of the unit\u2019s operating license. At the same time, it carried out additional necessary improvements to the building. The implementation of the works by the socail walfer acosiation irene<\/strong> was carried out within the framework of cooperation to support the structures of the organization \u039c\u03b1\u03b6\u03af \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf \u03a0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03af<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n

The infrastructure and renovation works carried out by the socail walfer acosiation irene<\/strong> specifically included:
\n\u2022 Installation of external thermal insulation on the western side of the building to improve thermal efficiency.
\u2022 Replacement of water supply, heating, and sewage systems to ensure safe and smooth operation of the infrastructure.
\u2022 Maintenance or replacement of gutters to ensure proper rainwater drainage.
\u2022 Repair and maintenance of frames and skylights.<\/p>\n

The children now live in a \u201cnew\u201d home, warmer in winter and cooler in summer. A home that is now effectively protected from rainwater and where sanitary installations have been significantly upgraded. The daily living conditions of the children and staff have improved significantly.<\/p>\n

A home is not something taken for granted for all children, nor is the sense of warmth and stability. When the environment in which children live and grow becomes safer and more modern, these changes are especially important, particularly for children who have faced major difficulties.<\/p>\n

The socail walfer acosiation irene<\/strong> also responded to other needs of the Social Initiative Association of Veria \u201c\u03a0\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03bf\u03b2\u03bf\u03c5\u03bb\u03af\u03b1 \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf \u03a0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03af.\u201d It first undertook, at its own expense, the procurement and installation of a 60 cm fridge-freezer to improve the living conditions of residents in the \u201cSemi-Autonomous Living Home for Young People.\u201d Secondly, it also financed and installed three 18,000 BTU air conditioners and one 12,000 BTU air conditioner at the \u201cDay Care Center for Children\u201d to improve the conditions of daily care for children and working conditions for staff.<\/p>\n

In the facilities of the Social Initiative Association of Veria \u201c\u03a0\u03c1\u03c9\u03c4\u03bf\u03b2\u03bf\u03c5\u03bb\u03af\u03b1 \u03b3\u03b9\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf \u03a0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03af,\u201d the children now smile more often, play more freely, and above all, dream of the future with greater optimism. After all, the dreams of today\u2019s children are the future of us all.<\/p>\n
