A Room Transformed into a Space of Care and Calm – Special Primary School of Kaisariani
At the Special Primary School of Kaisariani, a room showing clear signs of wear and tear was given a new form and, above all, a new purpose. Thanks to a donation from the Social Welfare Association “Eirini,” a modern multisensory Snoezelen Room was created, specially designed to meet the needs of children with disabilities.
The new room is a safe and welcoming space where children can find moments of calm, sensory support, and relaxation as part of their everyday routine. It is a space that respects each child’s individual pace and unique needs, providing the appropriate conditions for relaxation, exploration, and sensory experiences.
With specially designed wall protection, safety flooring, a projector, and relaxation equipment, the room was carefully created with both safety and functionality in mind. Every element was selected to contribute to an environment that can provide meaningful support and benefit to the school’s students.
For the Social Welfare Association “Eirini,” this donation represents yet another meaningful initiative centred around children and the real needs of the school community. Because care is not expressed only through large-scale initiatives. It can begin with a single room, transform everyday life, and provide children with a safe environment where they can experience calm, security, and acceptance.
A simple classroom was transformed into a space of care. And this change can become a meaningful part of everyday life for every child who needs it.
In the video below, you can see moments from our initiative and the result of our efforts. Because every change made for children is worth sharing.
