Donation of an Emergency Response UTV System to the 1st Special Forest Operations Unit (1st EMODE)

With a strong sense of social responsibility and solidarity towards the people who work every day to protect human life and the natural environment, the “EIRINI” Association is donating a fully equipped UTV emergency response system to the 1st Special Forest Operations Unit (1st EMODE).

In recent years, Greece has experienced increasingly frequent extreme weather events and devastating wildfires which, combined with the effects of the climate crisis, have created new and growing demands for Civil Protection forces. Firefighters and specialised operational teams are called upon to operate under extremely difficult and dangerous conditions, fighting every day to protect citizens, forest ecosystems, and property.

The specially equipped UTV is the first part of this donation and represents a valuable operational tool, designed for rapid intervention in hard-to-reach inhabited and uninhabited areas where conventional vehicles cannot easily access. Its high manoeuvrability and specialised equipment enable rapid access to challenging terrain, enhancing operational effectiveness and reducing response times during the critical early stages of an incident.

The vehicle is fully equipped for operational use, featuring a protective cabin, an electric winch, auxiliary lighting, a rear-view camera, reinforced protective systems, and specially designed storage compartments. These features allow it to meet the operational requirements of the 1st EMODE across different types of terrain and in a wide range of emergency situations.

This donation is a tangible expression of recognition for the work of the Hellenic Fire Corps and, in particular, the firefighters of the 1st EMODE, who remain constantly on the front line, carrying out their duties with dedication under particularly demanding conditions.

At the same time, it reflects the Association’s firm belief that strengthening operational capabilities and supporting the people who serve Civil Protection is an investment in the safety of our country and in the protection of our natural environment, which remains under constant threat.

The “EIRINI” Association will continue to undertake meaningful social initiatives, contributing, within its capabilities, to strengthening organisations and services that perform work of vital importance to the country and its citizens.
